For those outdoor camping excursions, lightweight tents for backpacking can help in reducing unnecessary weight. Their light weight construction is made with durable material and sturdy framework, to meet your home away from home housing needs.

There are many things to take into account when selecting these specific lightweight tents for backpacking and for the adventures they will bring. These thoughts should include, space, weight, assembly and most important, weather.

In the past, one would find that the tents generally range in weight starting from five pounds. With new technology and changing times, they now vary between 1 and 3 pounds to be considered an ultralight tent. Keep in mind, when opting for lightweight weights for backpacking, options and space may be limited.

These ultralight tents are usually made up of lightweight titanium and thin nylon which are rarely used in the cold winter months. For those avid backpackers, performance of hiking miles can reach a new limits by shedding some weight without shedding comfort and reliability.

Space will vary dependent on occupants and your preference. Most backpackers enjoy the freestanding tent for use without stakes. This type of tent retains its shape and can be pitched anywhere. With its lightweight fabric, dirt and debris can be easily shaken out for a restful nights sleep. For those who use the non-freestanding ultralight tents , lightness is at a pinnacle advantage due to the permitted substituting of a tree or hiking pole as at tent pole. Non-free standing tents are generally less resistant to high winds and the elements.

In your final determination of finding lightweight tents for backpacking, needs should be thoroughly met for comfort. Knowing the number of occupants, seasons, as well as where to put your gear is a deciding factor. Backpacking is an enjoyable time all year long. Do not let your sleeping arrangements detour you from this adventure and do not let extra pounds keep you from the summit.

Many people perceive these days that Morocco hiking in Mount Toubkal typically results to the kind of leisure or enjoyment of a lifetime. The 4,167-meter mountain has a joint scoot and jaunt which resembles the world-restored Atlas Mountain. Every year, thousands of people fail to reach the peak of Mt. Toubkal due to lack of preparation and lack of information on safety or precautions. Only few people have successfully reached the peak today. If you want to count yourself as one of the people who have reached Mt. Toubkal's peak, there are effective ways on how you can do it.

You must have all the things you need when you will go on a Morocco hiking. The things must include hiking poles and boots, clothing made from layered materials, yak tracks or snow crampons, camera, water and mountain hiking guide. You can also seek assistance from a hiking tour operator. The operator will help you set up your guide and strategies in reaching the peak of Mt. Toubkal. In beginning the first hiking strategy, you must have transportation from Marakke to Imlil areas. You can also start your hiking strategies in other towns near Marakkech and Imlil.

Head along to the river areas with your Morocco hiking guide and mules. The river located in Mt. Toubkal perpendicularly runs between Imlil and nearby towns. You need to take a slow walk in the woods located along the river. You must be able to reach the mountain base base camp afterwards. Today, there are two refuges in the base camp which is the older base and the latest which was just recently finished. It will take you about 6-9 hours before you can finally reach the base camp they call “Neltner.” For you to be able to reach the peak of Mt. Toubkal, you must leave the base camp at early morning. Most hikers leave at around 5 AM and were able to reach the peak in just 5 hours.

The broad array of backpacking tents on the market today and the vast price differential can make it confusing at best to choose the right equipment. Backpacking tents are primarily a personal choice. Of course, there are certain criteria that you want to meet, among them, that you find lightweight backpacking tents in order to alleviate the strain that it requires to pack a heavy tent in and out.

The cost for backpacking tents these days can range from about $ 50 dollars, onward up to about $ 800. Depending on what you want to spend and what you can afford, you can get lightweight backpacking tents that will sleep 6 or even 8 people comfortably.

Various factors determine what you want or need from your pack-tent. light tents are not all created equally, any more than any other item is. Choosing based on the climate, the terrain, and the personal needs you have means that you will get a tent that is more useful to you. Quality and cost effective price also has to figure in to the equation as well.

For those who have little experience in lightweight backpacking tents, the price may leave you a little shell-shocked. Midrange lightweight backpack tents can come a little steep in price, with most beginning about 300 dollars for a good quality tent.

How often will you be using your tent? Will a lower priced tent that may be a little less high quality serve your purposes just as well as another one? if you hate every weekend, chances are that the answer to that is no. You're going to need something that is more sturdy and will stand up to heavy use. If you're a once every six months hiker, you can probably get away with a midrange tent that will not need to see severe weather and be able to stand up to it.

What climate will you be hiking in and how warm will your lightweight needs need to be? If you are a winter hiker and camper, as many are, the tent will need to be a bit sturdier and more able to keep you warm and withstand some elements. This means you're going to be paying a little more for it, but you need to be concerned with a higher quality tent. Some of the top top range, high quality four seasons lightweight backpacking tents can be found weighing in as low as 5 pounds. However, you're going to likely pay about 500 dollars for that backpacking tent. If you're never a winter hiker, and you do not need your tent to withstand anything more than a freak rainstorm, a mid-range quality tent will serve you just as well and may lower your costs about 200 dollars.

When you purchase lightweight tents, consider all of your options and all that you may call on your tent to do. Quality and solid construction are a necessity even in a lower priced tent. Check the tents that you're considering carefully for stitching and waterproof elements. These need to be the best even in a lightweight summer-only tent. Typically the fiberglass poles are not the best idea, although they do pack well, they are not as sturdy as other varieties.

Check out every aspect of your lightweight backpacking tents and before you lay the money down for that brand new tent, read a few reviews from outdoor websites. You may be glad that you took some time to do your homework.

Together with some friends, I had a wonderful Grand Canyon tour last month. Before we visited the Grand Canyon, we spent two days in Las Vegas. Actually it was a fabulous city, every part of the city showed its distinct scenery. Although I was not interested in gambling, I still played billiards and roulette in the casino within my hotel. In Las Vegas, it seems that every hotel has its own casino. I was very lucky, as I won 50 dollars. From then on, I believed I would have a fantastic tour in the following days.

After a 2-day-tour in Las Vegas, we began our tour to the Grand Canyon. We spent around 5 hours to get to the South Rim, and we stopped a while for a simple lunch at noon time. Finally we reached our hotel at about 4pm. I was very tired, so I took a nap before our supper. We had a substantial dinner in a good restaurant, and I had never eaten such delicious beefsteak before. Although I am not good at cooking, I decided to cook savory beefsteak at home after my tour.

We got up early in the next morning. When we arrived at the Canyon, it was 7:00 am. It was a hiking day today, and we planned to hike to Ooh Aah Point down the South Kaibob Trail. Everyone was excited and we kept on taking pictures of each other and spectacular scenery while walking. Everything looked beautiful and fresh. After we saw the amazing Ooh Aah Point, we went down the other side, which could take a larger view of the canyon. And we stopped there for a while for snacks and drinks, and then we headed back up. The sun was bright, and we could feel the soft breeze touched our faces. The perfect weather made the scenery more beautiful. Going down was easy, but it was more difficult to hike up. The air got thinner when we went up along the trail, so it cost us twice time as long. It was an unusual hiking, which made my Grand Canyon tour different and unforgetable.

Backpacking to Singapore

I always wanted to travel all around the world, but I do not really have a lot of money to fulfill my desire to travel. So, the one thing I could do is “backpacking.” I love being a backpacker. I already backpacked to some places. One of them is Singapore with a budget as low as 1.500.000 IDR (1 USD = 8,900 IDR) – excluding a roundtrip ticket.

If you're an Indonesian and you want to go travel abroad, Singapore is one of the best place you would like to visit. I will tell you how to get there and stay for 5 days with only 2.500.000 IDR. First you have to keep your eye on the promo that any airlines give. I recommend you visit Air Asia's site which gives you the lowest flight cost. Keep in mind that the sooner you booked your flight, the cheaper price you will get. I got the roundtrip ticket as low as 500,000 IDR.

So, what you should do after you got your ticket is to plan where you would like to stay when you're in Singapore. Having a college or family in the country would be a great cost reducer. If you do not have any, then Backpacker Hostels would be a great choice. It's not the best nor is the comfiest place to stay but it good enough to get rest after a tiring day of shopping or sightseeing. The cost of these hostels are around 60,000 – 100,000 IDR per person per night. Then it's around 500,000 IDR for 5 days.

You could find great places to eat around Chinatown. They got good food with a good price for a backpacker. Also, do not forget to buy the MRT (Mass Rapid Transportation) ticket to go around Singapore in a cheap and faster way. I recommend you to use the train rather than the bus, because it's much faster. And to reduce costs on transportation, try to walk around more than taking the MRT for just a short distance. You will find it more pleasant sightseeing you would see. I spent 120.000 IDR on transportation.

Well, that's some tips from me for you who wants to go traveling to Singapore. Do not forget to save some of your money for the entrance fee to some of the greatest resort in Singapore such as Sentosa Island, Singapore Zoo, or The Turtle Museum. Have fun.

There are many misconceptions about how to backpack. Backpacking is a very low-budget form of traveling, although this definitely does not mean that this is for poor people only. Backpacking is a fun and exciting way to travel. To understand what backpacking really is, it's best to look at what a backpacker is.

What is a backpacker?
A backpacker is someone who does not want to just lay on the beach for weeks on vacation, but wants to have an exciting new experience in an interesting country or area. Backpackers are often very interested in meeting local people as well as seeing the sights and experiencing the culture. While regular tourists are often found in resorts next to the beach or in major cities like New York, backpackers can be found almost anywhere. Some backpackers prefer visiting many different cities and villages while others prefer the wilderness. Obviously those two types of backpacking are completely different from one another.

Benefits of backpacking

Personal thoughts on how to backpack
Backpacking is more than just a vacation to me. Every trip I take has a lot of truly indescribable moments, sights and conversations. I always meet the most incredible people who are so willing to help you with your travels. I've had a lot of experiences that I talk about almost every day. And even some experiences that (hold on, this is going to sound VERY clicheé) really changed my life and the way i look at it. For me, that's how to toppack.

It's the latest in backpacker trends. But what is flashpacking, and how do you flashpack successfully? Flashpackers have been defined as those in their mid 20s to early 30s who still follow the backpacker route and travel like a backpacker. Where they differ from the traditional budget globetrotter, however, is in their budget and their desire for comfort and amenities while they are traveling. Flashpackers expect better accommodation and have more money to spend on food and other comforts while they move around the world.

Flashpackers are still loyal to the basic backpacker philosophy, such as no fixed itineraries, experiencing the culture of a place and taking advantage of cheap flights and hostel accommodation, but there are a few things that set them apart from the conventional backpacker.

What makes a flashpacker?

Extra money . Rather than saving the bare minimum to get by while traveling, flashpackers embark on their travels with more money so that they can afford to splurge on drinks, meals out, partying and tours. Flashpackers on Bali holidays, for example, may stay in hostels but will spend their cash on nights out, nice meals and picking up souvenirs.

Technology . What really sets a flashpacker apart from a backpacker is the electronic goods with which they travel. According to a Hostelworld study in 2006, 21 percent of people travel with a laptop, 54 percent with an MP3 player, 83 percent with a mobile phone and 86 percent traveling with a digital camera. These 'flash' items make it easier for travelers to stay connected with home, be comfortable, capture their memories and be entertained.

Many hostels now cater to the growing flashpacker market, who are willing to pay for slightly upgraded hostel facilities, such as private rooms and bathrooms. Student travel will always be about affordability, but this new wave of backpackers is changing the scene slowly and adding a bit of glamor and comfort to the conventional budget lifestyle and threadbare living of the traditional backpacker.
